Our Position
We, the undersigned community members of Hawston and surrounding areas, strongly oppose the new extended Flagship Development and rezoning of the plot from Business 2 to Business 3 (Retail Stores).
Why We Say NO
- No to exploitation of our area
- Destroy the essence of our community
- Destroy our local business community
- Drive up property valuations and municipal rates
THIS WILL RESULT IN US BEING UNABLE TO PAY FOR SERVICES AND ULTIMATELY LOSE OUR PROPERTIES.
We Demand
- New Environmental Impact study to be done
- Area to be respected as an Endangered Fynbos Area
- Investigation on why the prior development ignored Endangered Area
- Place a moratorium on all future developments
- DECLINE REZONING APPLICATION
